When Paul Cushing arrived at Torrey Pines in 2010, the two courses at Torrey Pines routinely ranked amongst the bottom tier of PGA Tour maintenance standards. Paul instituted proper training, sound maintenance planning, scheduling, changed soil chemistry, fertility programs and re-worked the staff culture. Just 5 years later, Torrey Pines was nominated by PGA Tour Agronomy Staff as the top maintained golf course on the PGA Tour schedule and was awarded the 2021 United States Open Championship due to Paul's programs.

PC Turf instilled a program for the UCLA baseball program to transfer their standards of excellence from baseball to turf grass.

Paul Cushing's agronomic services were required to assist in correcting serious soil chemistry issues at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo's baseball and football/soccer stadium. We worked on tightening up the bermudagrass playing surface and before and after photos show an incredible conversion in just a 3-month period of time.
Paul Cushing Agronomic Turfgrass Services has been working with The San Diego Surf Sports Park since 2020. The fields are constantly ranked as some of the top maintained soccer fields in California. In 2022, the San Diego Surf Sports Park started a renovation project to convert all soccer fields to Latitude 36 Hybrid bermudagrass. The results have been stunning. In 2021, The NWSL's San Diego Wave FC built their practice facility at Surf Sports Park and have since used PC for soil testing and agronomic consulting in that time.
During Paul Cushing's time at Riviera, the golf course was transitioned to the modern era with an extensive greens and bunker renovation in conjunction with Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. While at Riviera, Paul hosted five Los Angeles Opens and in 1995, he was a pivotal piece of the team that hosted the 77th PGA Championship. During the PGA, the golf course was in the finest condition it had ever been.
Paul Cushing agronomic services works In a joint effort with Golf Course Superintendent Dario Olivares, Director of Golf Operations Tommy Masters and the supportive members of the SJCC Green's Committee to create one of the finest maintained golf courses in the Central Valley. The pure bentgrass greens and tight bermudagrass fairways complement an amazing golf course design. Also pictured above is the extensive bunker and green renovation project that Cushing served as project management consultant on in 2020. The project revitalized the property into a true modern classic.

Since that time, Westmont has seen their fields consistently become some of the top maintained college sports fields in the western United States. Not only are the fields incredible for the Westmont Student Athletes, but have also hosted the US Women's National Soccer team for training in preparation of the 2023 World Cup as well as annually hosting the MLS's New York City FC for pre-season training.
Paul Cushing agronomic services was up to the challenge in helping revitalize UC Santa Barbara's Uyesaka Baseball Stadium. Our expertise in soil chemistry was needed to assist in correcting serious sodium issues, which had led to turfgrass decline on the field. Before and after photos show an amazing transformation in just a 4-6 month period of time, where a multi-phased project eradicated kikuyugrass, strengthened the warm season bermudagrass base and continually repaired the soil chemistry.
Paul Cushing agronomic aervices has worked with Golf Course Superintendent Jose Alvarez and Fort Washington Country Club in Fresno since 2014. In an amazing collaboration of agronomic programs, soil testing and fertility recommendations, the Fort Washington team has produced one of the most consistent, finest maintained golf courses in all of California. The bentgrass/poa annua greens and tightly knitted common bermudagrass fairways complement a classic golf course design. Cushing agronomic services offers monthly consultations, soil testing and agronomic programs that compliment Jose's dedication and maintenance visions.
Vellano CC presented many challenges during construction with over 600' of elevation change, nine bridges that were constructed over deep revines & natural streams and a propety that contained over 5,000 native California Live Oaks. The course was constructed with a conscious effort to protect the environmental concerns and natural resources on site by reusing natural rock found on site; using crushed walnut shells under Oak Trees and preserving some of the Oak Trees for benches & railing that helped maintain the rustic theme of the course. Paul Cushing served as the project manager and director of golf course construction/caintenance operations from the inception of the project through golf course opening.
During Paul Cushing's time at Edgewood Tahoe, it was rated as one of America's Top-100 Golf Courses. The golf course has an incredible natural beauty as it sits on Lake Tahoe with its majestic pine trees. Edgewood Tahoe is the annual home of the Celebrity Golf Championship which hosts the top golfers from the sports and entertainment world.
